February Flew

not much happened in February which is just they way I like it. it did go fast though... i can't believe it's March already! so i trolled through my camera to see what pics i never uploaded and there wasn't much. it was a busy month i tell ya. homework, homework and more homework and that was just the hubs and myself. i'm not accustomed to bringing my work home. ever. but with being .8 this year and only being at school 4 days a week yearbook is killing me so it came home. of course the kids had their fare share too. our oldest and his girlfriend. yeah i said girfriend. this has got to be a middle school record, they've been an item now for over two months. took them to the mall and as they were walking away i have to admit i was feeling a bit sad about time moving way to fast. so i thought i'd be coy and snap a picture from the escalator but she turned around and caught me.
took the First Lady and grandma to see the Princess Diana exhibit for my mom's birthday. no pics allowed except at entrance and exit but got to see her wedding dress (wow) and such wonderful things as her childhood toys and many of her gowns and dresses.
totally worth it:)
Our Lil' Lady growin' like a weed and talking a blue streak
and this. this is our second emerging from the boys locker room. i drove him back to school one night to retrieve the dirty clothes he never remembers to bring home. yes, that trash bag is full. so we stopped at his school locker too.....
and found 7 hoodies and 3 hats
i love it.
God is Good:)

Sunday Snapshot~ Missing summer

so here i am posting august pics in february. you'd think after this mild winter we're having i wouldn't be missing summer so bad, but i am. only about 80 or so more days until summer break! a different look at baseball season brought to you by the First Lady

hangin' out at the water park

my brother and family coming all the way from NC to visit

and Lil' Lady and cousin meeting for the first time. they bonded over dinosaurs.

this guy loves anything with wheels.....

even if it's a fairy tea cart.

working on the soccer net for our second's birthday party

and our attempt to get a picture with all of the cousins together.

1 outta 5

3 outta 5

back to 1 outta 5

and then 2 outta 5 actually looking at the camera. see what i mean?
so we changed the backdrop.....

and then just waited for the Lil' lady to run through the shot

these two had a fair foot race

interference was or was not called, i don't remember

and then something entirely different was attempted

and the loser was left crawling to the finish line
the ref?

yep, i miss those summer days. the green grass, the smell of the rain on hot concrete

the late nights goofing off in bed

and the backyard campfires which are the perfect ending to the day because they have that wonderful calming effect:)

can't wait for summer 2012....

better get lookin' for those mary jane crocs in her size soon!

Sunday Snapshot~ my favorite whitney song:)

don't usually post about current events, politics or pop culture. this blog has always been for family and friends and of course it's become my scrapbook of memories. however, i couldn't help but think of my 7th grade self today, the one that knew the words to every song on that first album of hers. i used to sit in my room in front of that big stereo my dad bought me switching out my 45's and singin' along. she even has a spot on the kiddos ipods 20 years later. on a vacation we took a few years back "how will i know" came on the radio and of course only dad and i knew the words but the kids took an instant liking to it and requested it off of itunes when we got home. this is the one though that i would listen to during particular moments in my life; she sings it beautifully- and even though she shares it with Mariah, it was always my favorite:)

Many nights we've prayed

With no proof anyone could hear

In our hearts a hopeful song We barely understood

Now we are not afraid Although we know there's much to fear We were moving mountains Long before we knew we could

There can be miracles When you believe Though hope is frail It's hard to kill

Who knows what miracles You can achieve

When you believe, Somehow you will

You will when you believe

In this time of fear When prayer so often proves in vain

Hope seemed like the summer birds Too swiftly flown away

Yet now I'm standing here My heart's so full I can't explain

Seeking faith and speaking words I never thought I'd say

They don't always happen when you ask

And it's easy to give in to your fear

But when you're blinded by your pain Can't see your way safe through the rain

Thought of a still resilient voice Says love is very near

Sunday Snapshot~Homework

there are nights when i curse the ones who give it....especially some of those middle school teachers. but weekends? come on. that's our time, and there's no better way to ruin a weekend than to throw some homework into it. so one particular saturday morning we got'em up early and bribed them with chocolate donuts, cinnamon rolls and sausage biscuits.and we got it all done before noon. take that 4th hour math and 6th hour history! you're no match for chocolate chip muffins! of course the lil' lady loves the homework and refuses to be left out. no bribes necessary
